Our Customers Have Plenty to Say About Axon®!

“A Very, Very Easy Software System to Learn”

TBC Trucking Corp., of Pen Argyl PA, is a subsidiary of Techo-Bloc, North America's premier manufacturer of landscape and masonry paving stones. In this interview, Techo-Bloc’s Alison Lohman speaks out about their Axon® experience.

Tell us about Techo-Bloc and TBC Trucking.
“We manufacture concrete blocks for paving stones and retaining walls. Until recently, we had been paying other trucking companies to haul our product to our dealers. In 2005, we bought trucks that worked under Techo-Bloc hauling our product, and the owner of the company decided that he wanted to find more trucks and it was decided to make it a separate company. Our only customer isn't Techo-Bloc, but we pretty much only haul landscape products.”

“Does Your Software Save You Over $90,000.00 a Year?”

New Hope Transport LtdJake Peters started New Hope Transport Ltd. of Oak Bluff, Manitoba in 1991 operating primarily as a flat deck operation with some vans and pneumatic tankers. ...

Can you estimate your return on investment with your Axon software?
“The Axon software will save you on people. It saves you on extra salaries that you don't have to put out and training as far as extra people goes. I'm sure that if we didn’t have it, that we’d be looking at having at least three more people, so it's probably a savings of close to ninety to a hundred thousand dollars a year.”

How easy is it to use the software?
“When we switched over to Axon, the transition was like a breath of fresh air. I would really suggest to people that haven't switched over, that the Axon system has just simplified and enhanced our operation and enhanced our productivity so that we are able to do a whole lot more. Nobody should be afraid to switch over.”

“When You Lose an Important Staff Member, Make Sure Your Software Can Take Up The Slack!”

Plant Peddlers Inc. office staff from Willow Springs MOHow one Missouri group discovered the secret to running both a trucking and a logistics company with one software system, less people, and more free time!

Tell us about your company.
“Both of the companies were started in 1996. It started out with just my husband, and then my husband and I together, and we've just increased in volume and in employees over the years. With Axon, I think we'll be able to continue to grow and handle the growth that we've already experienced.”

Describe some of the issues that Axon has helped you solve.
“We didn't have any type of trucking software program prior to Axon so it was a very time-consuming process. The dispatcher would have to type up order confirmations. Then we'd have to manually create our invoices. So there was a lot of duplication of the work. We used a lot of Excel spreadsheets, and now it's all there in one system. We're able to answer questions and not have to manually go and track down the paperwork, which was double the work. We had a lot of problems. We pretty much did everything manually. Now it's a lot easier all around.”

Up-to-the-second business information beats waiting for a history lesson any day

Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing Inc. of Mt. Pleasant, TX, is the leading utility trailer manufacturing company in the United States.

What led to your decision to search for new software for Big Tex Transportation?
“We needed an accurate way to identify revenue and expenses at the truck level, and we wanted to be able to include payroll as part of those costs.

Our main business is manufacturing utility trailers. Our regular accounting software is more of an ERP system, and there was just no good functionality in there that was a fit [for trucking]. It wasn’t providing us with the information we needed.”

What helped you decide that Axon represented the right direction for your company?
“There were really two factors. First was Axon’s ability to capture revenue and expenses at the truck level. And second was the cost.

When we were shopping for software, we looked at four or five different packages. When we looked at demos, Axon just seemed to be a good fit and a good value compared to the other software that we looked at.
