Years ago now, we realized that there was an opportunity to develop oilfield trucking software for companies working in the oil patch We had been providing software to other types of trucking companies for over 20 years at that point, so it wasn’t really that big of a stretch. It seemed like an obvious choice because there were a lot of similarities.
At the same time we noticed that companies operating in the gas and oilfield had some very different needs than our usual customers. For example, Oilfield Trucking Companies tend to handle far more daily transactions and obviously require a good way to track them. Another thing, you often return to the same locations many times over extended periods for large jobs, and sometimes require incremental invoicing. In response, we developed a Tickets and Project Management Module for our software.
EDI interfaces are becoming more important if not mandatory for companies trucking in the oilfield, we currently have interfaces developed for ADP Open Invoice, Cortex and Oildex. Plus many other interfaces developed for Fuel Downloads, ACE/ACI e-manifests, satellite tracking and communications.

Axon’s Projects screen helps you stay on top of large contracts that involve many tickets and are carried out over extended time periods. Let’s say you’ve been hired to construct a fence around a well site. You can record the equipment, the materials, and the roustabouts assigned to the job. You can track the total cost, the profit or loss, and the work that has been completed or is still on order.
The system offers you a choice of entering a bid amount and submitting one invoice for the complete project or invoicing incrementally for individual tickets or groups of tickets.

Are you looking for a fast, easy way to send updated order and field ticket confirmations to your drivers when they’re on the road? What about signature capture, attachments, tracking, mapping, and printing straight from the field? Oilfield tickets can be processed quickly and efficiently with Axon’s mobile app. Rather than relying on telephone messages and handwritten tickets that can easily be misplaced, the dispatcher enters the basic information on his computer and sends it to the driver’s mobile device. The driver then completes the ticket and sends it back.
The Axon Trucking Link app is a fast, easy way to pass trucking transactions and electronic messages back and forth between you and your drivers. Both you and your drivers can update order/ticket information. You can attach documents, capture a signature, or track equipment location. Drivers can view a map or get directions from their current location. Axon Link is completely integrated with Axon’s trucking applications, so you don’t waste any time re-entering information.
It’s available for iPad, iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.
If you’re not using Axon’s optional mobile app, you will still benefit from Axon’s oilfield dispatch system. The Tickets screen has been streamlined to speed up data entry. You can tailor the screen to suit your company’s needs by removing fields that aren’t needed, automatically tabbing over others, and adding custom fields to collect company-specific information.
Have you ever had an employee drive all the way out to a site and get turned away because they didn’t have the proper qualifications? With Axon software, that won’t happen. When you enter a customer, you record all the qualifications that are required when you work for them. You’ll receive a warning or the system can refuse to assign a driver if he doesn’t have the necessary qualifications.

It’s easy to keep track of the maintenance work that’s been done on your equipment; simply run a report using the information stored in Work Orders, Payables Invoices, or Equipment Statements.
You can also create Equipment Reminders to keep track of inspections and oil changes. Relevant reminders will be displayed when you are assigning Equipment, and you can circulate automatic email reminders.
Axon automatically calculates the pay when drivers receive a percentage of the ticket. You enter the information once on the ticket; there’s no need to make duplicate entries in Payroll because the information is already there.
If you pay on an hourly basis, the payroll expense can be charged back to the Ticket, ensuring that you have an accurate tally of the overall cost.
Have you found that your employees come from all over the country and maintain bank accounts in their home communities? Not to worry. With direct deposit, you can transmit payroll checks directly to their bank accounts, no matter where they are located. There’s no need to generate and distribute paper checks, saving time for both you and your employees.
You’ll do far less data entry if you use EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). Once the ticket is entered, you can send a scanned copy of the signed ticket electronically to the oil company.
EDI is completely integrated with the Axon system. You’ll be notified when the oil company confirms the work, and payments will be recorded in your general ledger.
Axon supports the following VANs: ADP Open Invoice, Cortex, and Oildex Spendworks CSV Flat File Integration. Axon also supports the following X12 EDI Transaction Sets: EDI 810 – Invoice, EDI 871 Service Receipt, and EDI 850 – Ticket.
